Used mainly by the shipyard industry the Blastechnik abrasive vacuum recovery unit is used to collect spent abrasive from inside ship sections. The unit is suitable for use with either expendable abrasives or steel grit (DuraGrit).

Conventionally these vacuum units are extremely loud as the vacuum pump produces a high pitched noise. With increasing focus on operator safety and well being Blastechnik have developed a vacuum recovery unit that restricts the noise levels to below 80dba. This is noise level is a lot less harnfull to operators than the 100+dba vacuum units generally produce.

The reduction in noise levels does not effect the performance of the units. The heart of the recovery unit is the German manufactured vacuum pump. This unit is able to recover 6-10 metric tonnes of steel grit per hour. Clean up at these recovery rates is very fast and efficient.

When used for shipblock blastrooms the vacuum recovery unit is integrated with mechanical abrasive recovery system. Collected abrasiev is deposited into the recycling system for processing to remove dust and unwanted contaminants.
